Beaches & Swimming
Faliraki's main beach stretches over a kilometre of fine sand and shallow water. Nearby, Anthony Quinn Bay and Ladiko offer sheltered coves framed by pine-covered cliffs — bring a mask for the snorkelling.
Faliraki, Rhodes
Sun-drenched beaches, a medieval Old Town just up the coast, and a quiet neighbourhood that feels like home.
The Setting
Faliraki sits on the sheltered east coast of Rhodes, roughly 16 kilometres south of the island's international airport and 14 kilometres from the UNESCO-listed Old Town. Once a sleepy fishing bay, it has grown into a relaxed, family-friendly beach town — long sandy shores, crystal-clear swimming, and a strip of waterfront tavernas backed by a quiet residential grid.
Stay Helios is tucked into that quieter side: a short walk from the sand, a bus ride from the medieval city, and close enough to the airport that you can be poolside within half an hour of landing.
The Neighbourhood
Our street is residential and calm — you'll hear birdsong in the morning, not traffic. The nearest beach is a two-minute walk; the main strip of Faliraki, with its restaurants, mini-markets and cafes, is about ten minutes on foot.
The local bus stop sits right outside our door, connecting you to Rhodes Town, Lindos and the airport without a car. For the days you do want to explore at your own pace, on-site car and bike rental makes it easy.
Culture & History
Fourteen kilometres north, the medieval city of Rhodes — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — unfolds behind honey-coloured stone walls. The Street of the Knights, the Palace of the Grand Master, and a maze of cobbled lanes lined with artisan shops and hidden courtyards make a full day of exploring.
By car or bus it's twenty minutes from our door. Go early for quieter streets, or head there at sunset when the ramparts glow amber and the harbour-front tavernas fill up.
From golden beaches to hilltop ruins, Faliraki and the surrounding east coast pack more variety into a short drive than you might expect.

Rhodes Old Town is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe. Combine it with a day trip to the Acropolis of Lindos, perched high above a postcard bay, for a double dose of history.
Tavernas along the waterfront serve fresh-caught fish, souvlaki and meze. Try pitaroudia (chickpea fritters) and a chilled glass of local Athiri wine — both are Rhodes staples.
The port of Rhodes Town connects to Symi, Halki and the Turkish coast. Closer to home, Prasonisi at the island's southern tip is a windsurfer's paradise where two seas meet.
Shallow beaches, a waterpark five minutes away, and calm residential streets make Faliraki an easy base for families. The area is well set up for kids of all ages.
Faliraki's bar street comes alive after dark, but the rest of the town stays relaxed. You're close enough to join in and far enough to sleep soundly.
